Dividends And Growth Combined: 5 Top Stock Picks That Could Outperform The Market

Who’s not dreaming about a long-term orientated portfolio that increases in value and pays you each year a higher dividend that beats inflation? I do!

The good think is that it's possible to create such a big income source with small money. I've also created a virtual portfolio with income focus in order show how dividend growth investing can look like.

Back to my daily stock idea that I often publish on this blog. I've created some ideas what stocks delivered good returns in the past and can also possibly outperform the overall market within the next years. It’s a combination of growth and dividends. These are my main criteria:

- Market cap is greater than $100 million.
- Dividend yield is greater than the dividend yield of the industry.
- The payout ratio is less than 100%.
- Past 5 years dividend growth rate is bigger than the dividend growth of the industry.
- Average annual earnings growth estimates for the next 5 years is greater than 10%.
- Past 5 years EPS growth is greater than the average industry value.

Attached are my five favorite picks with more fundamentals. The screen delivered some more results like the luxury brand company Coach, the German industrial conglomerate Siemens or the home improvement stock Leggett & Platt.

17 Dividend Stocks With Most Recent Dividend Growth

Stocks with dividend hikes from last week originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. 17 stocks announced to raise their dividends last week. It’s good to see that dividend growth still works despite the fact the total number of stocks is still very weak.

United Technologies is the biggest dividend riser from the last week. The company announced to boost its future dividends by 10 percent. Other big stocks are Gladstone Investment and Johnson Outdoors.

You can find a detailed list about all dividend growth stocks from last week in the attached list. There is also a small sheet with price ratios which makes it easier to compare the results.

Most of the long-term dividend growers are high quality stocks with expensive price ratios. Only five shares have a current forward P/E of less than 15.

17 Cheap Dividend Contenders With Buy Ratings And Double-Digit Growth

Cheap Dividend Contenders with high growth and buy ratings originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. Dividend growth and passive income strategies for normal investors is the core content of this blog. I personally create these articles to share my thoughts about good dividend paying stocks.

The underlying aim is to build a portfolio with high-quality dividend stocks that hike dividends in the future and boost your passive income. If they pay a good dividend and they grow, the share price must follow one day and reflect the corporate success.

Today I would like to present some dividend growth stocks with 10 to 25 years of growing dividends and buy or better ratings. These are my criteria in detail:

- 10 to 25 years of consecutive dividend growth
- Cheap forward P/E of less than 15
- EPS growth for the next five years over 10 percent yearly
- Buy or better rating by brokerage firms

Seventeen stocks fulfilled the above mentioned criteria of which one pays a high yield over five percent. Two companies have a strong buy rating.

Ex-Dividend Stocks: Best Dividend Paying Shares On August 14, 2013

The best yielding and biggest ex-dividend stocks researched by ”long-term-investments.blogspot.com”. Dividend Investors should have a quiet overview of stocks with upcoming ex dividend dates.

The ex dividend date is the final date on which the new stock buyer couldn’t receive the next dividend. If you like to receive the dividend, you need to buy the stock before the ex dividend date. I made a little screen of the best yielding stocks with a higher capitalization that have their ex date on the next trading day.

A full list of all stocks with payment dates can be found here: Ex-Dividend Stocks August 14, 2013. In total, 57 stocks go ex dividend - of which 15 yield more than 3 percent. The average yield amounts to 3.18%.

Here is the sheet of the best yielding, higher capitalized ex-dividend stocks:

54 Large Cap Dividend Stocks At All-Time Highs And Which To Buy

High capitalized dividend stocks at All-Time-High prices originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. Only a rising stocks is a good stock if you are invested. The markets are really bullish after FED chairman Bernanke has flooded the market with cheap money over the recent years. As a result, the many stock markets all over the world hit all-time highs. But not all stocks are winners.

I’ve screened the market by large capitalized stocks at All-Time-Highs. 76 companies have reached this goal and 54 of them pay good dividends. It looks like stocks at new highs are also highly priced. That’s not true. 30 of the top results still have a forward P/E below 15.

Below is a small list of the dividend stocks at new All-Time-Highs with forward P/E’s fewer than 15 as well as double-digit earnings growth predictions for the next five years. Eleven companies fulfilled these criteria.

Diversified Industrial Technology Company 3M Completes The Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio

Despite the small correction within the financial markets, the asset prices for high-quality dividend growth stocks are still high. We need a bigger correction to get back to normal prices but the current forces are too strength. It’s a process of valuation adjustments – stock yields come down to bond yields.

Last Friday, I put 15 shares of the industrial conglomerate into the Dividend Yield Passive Income (DYPI) Portfolio. I bought the company at 110.27 which resulted into a total purchase amount of $ 1,654.05. Below is a graph of the latest earnings and dividend developments from the recent five years.

Earnings and Dividends of MMM 3M

3M Company is a diversified technology company with a presence in the industrial and transportation; health care; consumer and office; safety, security and protection services; display and graphics, and electro and communications businesses. 3M manages its operations in six business segments: Industrial and Transportation; Health Care; Consumer and Office; Safety, Security and Protection Services; Display and Graphics, and Electro and Communications.

MMM is also not cheap but compared to other dividend champions lower valuated. The current P/E amounts to 17.42 while the forward P/E is calculated at 15.02. Investors get a yield of 2.30%.

Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio (Click to enlarge)

Latest Portfolio Transactions (Click to enlarge)

The 3M position is the eleventh biggest position within the DYPI-Portfolio. The portfolio has now 34 constituents and was funded on October 04, 2012. I plan to purchase each week one stake at cost between $1 to $2k. As a result, the cash reduced from $100k to $51. It’s a strategy of slow purchase and if the markets go further strong up, I need to close my acquisition process and rest on cash. The current valuation is too high to get good long-term yields.

What happened with my current holdings? They realized a gain of 10.24 percent. Because of the high cash amount (around 50 percent of the portfolio is still not invested), the portfolio performance life-to-date amounts to 5.46%.

The new stake will give me around $37 bucks per year in additional dividend income. The full year estimated passive dividend income is now at $1,718.

Here is the income perspective of the portfolio:
